Frame Kit Components

The base of the building is constructed from 6x6 and 4x6 pressure treated yellow pine. The treatment is rated at .60 which means it is treated to be IN the ground. It is a much better treatment rating then landscaping lumber for example which is .40 or less.

The steel splice plates, located at the joints of the continuous pressure treated runner are 1/8" x 5' x 36" and are applied to both sides of a half lapped joint in the 6x6 and fastened using 8 3/8" x 7" carriage bolts designed to be used in the .60 treated material.

The corner brackets are 3/16" thick steel and are fastened to the corners of the treated runners using six of the same carriage bolts.

All wood components, which include the front uprights, back uprights, headers and roof trusses are constructed of southern yellow pine #2. The wall sections are also constructed of yellow pine #2. All the material used is 2x4.

The wall sections also have a steel wind bracing applied to keep them square. Every joint on the components and walls have steel truss plates attached. The roof trusses are designed for a maximum 25lb. snow load. Heavier loading is available.

The screws used to attach all the components together, as well as to the treated base, are 2 1/2" deck screws designed to be used in the .60 treated lumber.
